What are autoresponders?
As a client of Total Computer Solutions, you have the ability to create an unlimited number of autoresponders for your email. An autoresponder is a pre-formatted message that can be automatically-generated from your email accounts. For example, you could have widget@yourdomain.com automatically send a product brochure to anyone who sends you an email to that address.Autoresponders are perfect for sending out information to those that email you.

What is email forwarding?
Clients of Total Computer Solutions can set up email forwarding for mail accounts. For example, info@yourdomain.com can be automatically forwarded to any email account. Many people use this feature to set up an email address at their domain name and then have it forwarded to another email account, such as Hotmail.

What are catch-all addresses?
A "catch-all" email address allows you to "catch" email from users who may have misspelled your email address, a common problem on the Internet today. Every email that is not addressed correctly gets delivered to an email address that you specify. For example, if your client sends an email to inf@yourdomain.com instead of to info@yourdomain.com, this email would be properly delivered to you if you have set up your "catch-all" email address.

How many email addresses, or mailboxes, come with each hosting plan?
Basic 20 mailboxes
WebMaster 25 mailboxes
WebMaster DB 30 mailboxes

Can I order additional mailboxes?
If you require more mailboxes than come with your plan, don't worry. You can add additional mailboxes to your current plan. You can order additional mailboxes in increments of five, each containing 5MB of storage capacity. You pay only $12.95/month (billed quarterly.) Or, pay an annual fee of $130.00 and save over $25.00.

What is the maximum space allowed for each plan?
All mailboxes receive 5MB of space, which includes items stored in the deleted items and sent items folders. If you choose to download your email to a desktop program such at Outlook, this mailbox space will provide ample capacity for you. If you decide to access your email strictly from the web, you may encounter difficulties in the long run with your mailbox size. Additional space may be added, however.

What happens if my mailbox reaches it maximum size?
If your mailbox reaches its maximum, any additional messages that are sent to that mailbox will bounce back to the sender. These messages will continue to do this until you reduce your mailbox size under its quota. One way to do this would be to first clear the contents of your deleted items and sent items folders. Or, if you prefer, you may simply purchase additional space.

How is additional mailbox space sold?
If you receive large attachments or many emails each day, you may require more than 5MB of mailbox storage space. You can easily upgrade a single mailbox by 25MB for a total space of 30MB. You will pay only $12.95/month (billed quarterly). Or pay an annual fee of $130.00 and save over $25.00!

Is there a size limit on sending email attachments?
Yes. All messages delivered must be smaller than 5MB. If you have a large attachment to send, you may want to try to zip it using WinZip or a similar zip program.

Is there a limit to how many recipients I can have for one email? For example, if I want to send an email to 100 people, can I do that?
You may send the same message to 50 people simultaneously. If you wish to send a message to more than 50 people at once, you can do so by either sending multiple emails and/or using a coding language to create a mailing script.

Total Computer Solutions limits the number of people that you can send a single email to in an effort to minimize SPAM.

How long do you keep the "Deleted Items" on your mail server?
If you choose to access your email via Outlook, Eudora, etc., Total Computer Solutions does not delete any of the "deleted items" that you have downloaded. If, however, you choose to access and store your email via the web console at "http://mail.domain.com", we will occasionally delete items from the "Deleted Items" folder without prior notification. This only refers to messages in the "Deleted Items" folder.

To ensure that you do not lose any necessary email, move critical items out of your "Deleted Items" folder on a regular basis. You may choose to create a special folder in your Inbox to keep these messages in. Simply login to your mailbox, go to "Folders" and choose the "Create Folder" button.

Please note: Any mail you keep stored on our email server, including deleted and sent items, rather than downloading it to Outlook, Eudora, etc., counts against the email quota associated with your hosting plan.

Can I point my email to another server outside of Total Computer Solutions's network?
Yes, you can host your email account at another location besides our mail servers. To do this you will need to have the Mail (MX) record changed for that domain so that it points to the correct mail IP address.

Do you provide any support for maintaining and administering mailing lists and/or subscriber lists?
No. Due to SPAM concerns, we do not support mailing lists.
